ENERGY > ELECTRICITY:
- If you have a choice, pick a supplier whose energy comes
partially or in whole from renewable energy sources.
- When using electrical appliances, make sure you use the
least energy possible:
1. Household appliances:
refrigerator
washing machine
iron
2. Audio and video hardware: TV, radio, hi-fi set
>> Those devices should only be turned on if someone
is using it.
>> If you're not using something turn it off completely,
not leaving it in standby mode - it is a waste of energy
at your home.
3. Lighting:
>> Lighting takes up much power consumption in your
household - about 40%.
>> Power saving light bulbs may seem expensive, but
take into account that such a bulb uses about 5 times less
electricity than a normal one, and has a 6-10 times longer
life cycle. In reality, using such bulbs you save not only
power, but also money and the natural environment.
